Stooping is the act of bending down to pick things up. Our goal is to keep useful items out of the landfill by giving them a second life in new homes.
Everything is free so everyone can benefit.
We get still-usable household items from community donations, curbside finds and unsold local business inventory.
Yes. We do our best to clean every item before they’re listed.
During special giveaway events, certain items are password protected. All donors will receive priority “shopping access” for those items.
Flash events are to appreciate our donors. They have priority shopping access for hot items.
There’s a limit of 10 items per order. We want to make our store accessible for as many people as possible.
Orders placed before 12 pm are available for same-day pickup while orders after 12 pm can be picked up the next day. You’ll receive a notification via text and/or email with pickup details. Please pick up your order promptly; due to space constraints, we’ll hold your order for three days before relisting the item(s).
No. Local pickup only.
You can cancel your order before pickup by contacting us through our contact form, emailing info@collegeprepstooping.com or texting a team member.
All transactions are final once you pick up your order.
We accept gently used, unwanted, or new household items. As a student-run service, we reserve the right to refuse anything inappropriate.

While we don’t accept large items, we can list them on our website. If a customer orders your large item, they’ll pick it up directly from your location.
Yes, we welcome monetary donations. They support website maintenance and charities such as Californians Against Waste and National Breast Cancer Foundation. Visit our donate page for more information.
Items are stored in team members’ garages for safekeeping.
We add inventory daily during school breaks and weekly throughout the school year.
We donate excess inventory to our partners, reputable organizations including: Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, Free Oakland Up, Dark Carnival Bookstore, St. Anthony’s Thrift, the Humane Society, Maktabas and the Oakland Public Library.
Our Happy Customers page is totally optional, but your photo can help our initiative grow and encourage more people to embrace reuse.
Absolutely! We welcome anyone, high schoolers and college students especially, to become branch directors. Please fill out our signup form if you’re interested.
